First appointment with specialist diabetic nurse

Had first appointment with diabetic nurse today, it went ok. She's put me on metformin 500mg to take with evening meal, she's also put me on simvastatin for cholesterol. She's going to book me on a DESMOND course. she wants to see me again in january.
 
All sounding very proactive from your nurse

Sounds a very positive and encouraging meeting.

Lots of people on this forum have found DESMOND course helpful, sometimes a bit basic for well-informed people with type 2 diabetes, but useful to meet other people with the same condition.
 
It all sounds very positive. I did a DESMOND course and found it helpful. It was nice to meet other people in the same position as me.
