Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello everyone.
I have been asked by work if I would like to go on a one day course for first aid in the office. I have type one diabetes. Is anyone aware of any restrictions for me?
Thanks in advance.

I'm type 1 and have been a first aider at work for years. I've never been told there are any restrictions.

Last place I worked one of the first aiders told me No Way did she ever intend touching anyone who was ILL. So, if I was passed out on the floor, she'd make certain to step over me to get to the phone and ring 999.

Please, please, don't take it on if you have that attitude!

Can't think of one single reason why you can't do it due to your type 1, did first aid course 30 years ago through St John's & really enjoyed it, everyone should do one.
