Hi all,
FINALLY - we have managed to reduce Alex's waking level from 22mmols down to this mornings level of 8.2 - and when we checked him at 11pm last night he was 8.2 too! So, hopefully and fingers crossed we may have cracked the growth spurts etc! At clinic yesterday he had grown 2cm in 12 weeks - so that will explain those awful night time levels.
He has gone to his secondary school for the day - so i am a bit on edge just in case anything goes wrong for him today. He is so excited, but i felt a little sad for him - all the other children just have to remember their lunches, Alex has to remember all is hypo stuff, his insulin, his meter, and he has to be aware of the weather in case he needs to reduce and remember to eat a cereal bar if they do P.E. etc etc etc...I suppose its all character building and will teach him to be organised!😉Bev
