Very strange thing just happened while doing a site change. As I was filling the cartridge I could hardly push the syringe plunger into it. This has never happened before normally have no trouble filling the cartridge but for some reason tonight was different. Any idea why this happened?

Sometimes you hit the wrong spot and don’t get the needle through the seal. Take the needle out and try again. I’ve had it happen a few times.

This does happen to me from time to time. Maybe about third or a quarter of times?

Like @Thebearcametoo I just need to try a couple of other spots on the white dot until I get the ‘cluh-clunk’ feeling and the syringe goes in by the distinctive amount rather than stopping too soon.

When you take the syringe out, make sure you give it a little tap to ensure the insulin is still flowing.

Some people on the internet seem to get a situation where a little ‘core’ of the white plastic dot gets punched into the needle and blocks it. I’ve never actually had that. Sometimes it takes me 3-4 goes to find the right spot on the white dot, and I’ve never had a blocked syringe yet!
