Figs.....

Coincidentally I signed up for the Guardian Feast newsletter and today it was an article by Felicity Cloake about her fig tree with links to various recipes from Slater, Hugh Fearnley Whittenstall etc using figs. Don't look very diabetic friendly.

As to off topic comments. I remember the hurricane. I lived in a small block of flats in Southsea and at 5am noticed my car had moved. I went out and moved it back and in gear. Little stones from the roof were coming down and another resident who was a sports reporter for tvs had the glass roof of his sports car smashed. I had a very quiet journey on M27 to Southampton. That evening I had a choir rehearsal at Chichester Cathedral. The Cathedral had been damaged.

More sadly in the August that year someone who had been in my degree class was shot dead at Hungerford. He was the clerk to the Justices at Newbury. I still remember him and his name but am not naming him here. I remember being deeply shocked.
