Fiasp effectiveness

Hi there, try reducing your carb intake (very gradually so that you don't feel too restricted), as well as upping your basal. Low(er) carb + basal+bolus, accordingly = The Law of Small Numbers & therefore less chances of such fluctuations. I'm suggesting the sacrifice of lowering your carb intake because you could be heading for insulin resistance.

It’s more likely the Fiasp. I don’t think the OP has stated their usual total daily carbs anyway. A number of people have had issues with Fiasp becoming ineffective.

Ive seen others also mentioning what seems to be a resistance that builds over a few weeks from approx week 2, which is more or less exactly what I saw. I just get the feeling is doesn’t work for some people, and I seem to be one.

Isn't it strange.

Anyway going to request 2 vials for pump & give it go, nothing to lose really. Thanks for reply.

Vials finally arrived yesterday so all systems go. Find insulin is faster acting so pre bolus times is less, even when bolusing just before eating spike is less noticeable than with novorapid.

Glad it’s working well for you so far @nonethewiser - be interesting to see if things change over the next couple of weeks and you notice differences in the apparent speed and/or sensitivity.

Gone from 1 to 10 jab and forget, to 3 to 10 overnight! Two weeks ago sunday fine, Monday 32 units for 80gms! Just like that. Consultant no idea (late 70s his minder, nurse, contradicts everything he says anyway). Back to novorapid 3 days still same. Will it wear off?

When I swapped back to NR my diabetes seemed to start behaving in a more expected manner almost straight away.

Are you coming down with a bug or anything?

When did you last check your basal?

Hi, no nothing, had vitals checked at a&e 2 days after, nothing. 4 days in and still jabbing 3x morning and 2 x lunch, 2 tea. My basal is spot on daytime, didn't eat one day for 6hrs, flat, and night flat, if a little low, only jab 1 unit so nowhere to go with that. Using 5 month old novo hoping it's that, but good till 2024 so not promising.

NR is only reliable out of the fridge at ambient temperature for 28 days as i understand it.

Hope you get better results with a fresh pen/vial 🙂
