Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, does anyone suffer with really painful feet. I have type 2 diabetes and Mine are really bad at the moment, so bad I can’t sleep. I’ve not slept right through the night for weeks. Does anyone have any ideas how to ease the pain?

Have you been checked for neuropathy? What sort of pain is it? Tingling? burning? Are your feet sensitive to touch of blankets/duvet?

Thank you for replying. No I haven’t been to a neuropathy. It is tingling and pain, very sensitive to the duvet been on them. When I walk it feels like they are wet underneath. I’m so desperate for a good nights sleep

I think you should book an appointment with your GP and let them know. If it is neuropathy (nerve damage), they will be able to suggest medication and options to alleviate the symptoms.

I believe it can also be effective to keep your BG as stable and ‘in range’ as you can.

How do you currently manage your diabetes? And do you use a BG meter to monitor your own levels?

I am currently on medication but waiting to see the diabetic nurse to go on insulin because I have badly managed my care until recently. I test my blood twice a day
