After 3 weeks of kicking myself up the backside and getting my head out of the sand I have managed to get my bloods in a better place . Cur out all the c**p and taking meds properly. Treated myself to fish and chips tonight, was dreading the reading but 2 hours later a 8.3 !!! I can do this and I will do it ....I have an app on my phone that I log my readings in I know it's not totally accurate as only the last 3 weeks readings but hba1c predicted at 47... Last official bloods were 77 . 🙂

Well done with taking control of things. Sounds like you are doing really well.

I share a portion of fish and chips with my partner every once in a while as a treat. I would be wary of having a full portion myself and in fact I wouldn't be able to manage a full portion anymore.
You do have to be careful not to get lulled into a false sense of security with fatty foods like fish and chips or pizza because the spike from them can be delayed for several hours due to the fat slowing the digestion, so might be worth testing 3 or 4 hours afterwards as it could have been 8.3 and still rising 2 hours after eating, rather than coming back down. Hopefully not, but worth checking. Fatty carb rich foods can leave me high right through the night.

hi @Jules77 well done for the getting things under a better control  I noticed in your signature you are on Trulicity is it still available for you ? I like a few others had problems obtaining it earlier this year so my GP in the end had to change my Meds

Well done

Well done on all the work you have put in. And lovely that you were able to congratulate yourself with a little treat and that your BGs behaved themselves 🙂
