Oh dear! I've done myself another injury
I went to my little ones school fete and I was apparently sitting awkwardly on the grass at the picnic before I took him in the heat around all the rides. I managed to get burnt despite having cream on, he didn't because generally I try to use my body to shade him.
However, on the evening afterwards my arm started aching like anything. I took co-codamol and applied improprofen gell and hoped I could sleep it off... I didn't...
It's now just a dull ache unless I move my arm in an awkward way or put too much pressure on it. But I still need co-codamol to get any sleep. The 111 person I spoke to on sunday said it was most likely I'd pulled a muscle or trapped a nerve and it should fade.
Unfortunately I now can't raise the affected arm about shoulder level - I can move it otherwise but it just stops once I get to horizontal. No back stroke for me then! Hopefully in time I'll get full movement back.
No idea which muscles/tendons/nerves I've actually managed to damage.
