Feeling bad

Breakfast, second breakfast, lunch and snack at 2pm. If I wasn't having to eat every two hours i would be happy with this graph.
 
Would just like to just be able to not eat for a few hours and my blood sugar to stay stable no ups or downs. Is this possible x
Non diabetic humans blood glucose doesn't do that, so no, it isn't very likely, or perhaps even possible. However, it is possible to keep the BG within an OK range, once you have been trained for 'Dose adjustment for normal eating' properly.

I'm not sure how long since you were diagnosed - have you ever heard of such training? - or even of adjusting your basal insulin if X or Y happens to occur in your life, yourself?

(I'm conscious that some of the things people are suggesting on here though perfectly understandable to me, probably wouldn't make any sense whatever to someone 'new')

Your graph looks fine. You are almost 100% in range.

Your basal needs looking at I think as it's running you very close to the hypo line.
I would do a basal test. Once you sort that out, you'll need to snack less often than you are currently having to do. This is far from a disaster. If this was me I'd be considering a change of basal by 1 or 2 units and leaving everything else as it is for a few days to let my body adapt to the new basal amount. I'd be confident that this single tweak would sort my problem out and by Monday I'd be getting back to my life again. You'll need to decide for yourself what to change (if anything at all) but please don't be disheartened by this. You are looking in good shape.
 
Annoyed at myself. Decided on 1 unit for my 40g sandwich because I had been active and I had this worry I would go low if I took my 1.5. 2 hours 45mins later at 8.5 from 5.3. Any thoughts on this. I. Know its not bad but should I really be lower?

Alison, try not to get too uptight about the numbers. You are still below 10 and even if you go above 10 it is not the end of the world by a long chalk. The recommendation with Libre is to keep your levels between 4-10 75% of the time. From the graph you posted this morning, you managed 100% for the past 24+hrs which is fantastic but extremely unlikely that you will be able to maintain that over a long period of time and you are very likely to experience "burn out" sooner rather than later, trying to achieve that.

I went up to 12 through the night and double figures most of the time i was sleeping and I am a bit chewed off about that because I was up to 92% in range for the past 7 days prior that and now it is back down into the 80s, but that is still a good weekly average as long as that 12 is a rare occasion rather than every other day and I try to work out strategies to prevent it happening again.... not always possible but good to experiment and try different things.

Yes maybe 1 unit wasn't quite enough for your sandwich today and 1.5 would have been better but you made a decision based on safety ie not risking a hypo, so it was a good decision even if it didn't work out "perfect" and that aim for "perfection" is dangerous. You need to be a little more relaxed about this. I tend to treat it more like a computer game with my levels rather than a critical health management issue. I want to get the best score I can but there are things beyond my control and I can't play with it 24/7 so sometimes I take my eye off the ball and it goes astray. I accept that. If I play 24/7 then I miss out on living life because I am tethered to it.

You are already doing really well with your diabetes management but your aim and expectation may be too high. It takes time and experience to learn how your body works and just when you think you have it all figured out, it changes. You need to learn to shrug and think, I did my best there, my thinking was right, I did all the right things but it just didn't work out quite as well as I hoped. Then you have to decide if you want to repeat the experiment tomorrow and keep things the same to see if you get a similar result in which case you then look at tweaking your insulin or the sandwich to improve on it next time but don't fret about today's result.

That’s fine 🙂 Remember the old way of diagnosing diabetes was two random blood tests over 11.1. You’re in single figures - it’s nothing bad. Perhaps you would have gone hypo if you’d taken the full dose, so you made a sensible decision.

Yes! This should definitely be possible!

But it will depend a little on your basal insulin needs, and how effectively they can be met by one or two doses of long acting insulin.

One thing that can throw a spanner in the works of stable BGs is low glucose (which can make your liver a bit twitchy and erratic).

It sounds like you may need to reduce your basal by 10% or so, as a trial? And see how that works for a couple of days?

Pretty much perfect for a post-meal result in my book!

The International Consensus for Time In Range suggest 70% of the time between 4-10 (with ideally less than 4% below 4.0), so you can have nearly 25% of reading above 10 and still have a excellent BG management

OK... So I ain't having pizza again, way to tiring trying to work out the insulin. Twice in the last few days, trying something different and it still didn't work

Only twice? Regardless, if you enjoy pizza I think it's fine to indulge, now and again.

I find half (or quarter) at a time is both sufficient (I don't feel I much want to eat more) and much easier to handle.
