Oh no! Sorry to hear this @corriefan

Do you think it's a stomach bug? How are your BGs behaving?

Have you got any Sick Day Rules from your hospital/clinic if your BGs start misbehaving during nausea/vomiting?

Hi I think so I thought I was getting better so I tried to eat but it made me worse at the moment there 10.9 I have checked ketones there finr

Thank you she just said phone is to let us know I feel bad that I went in like this I have phoned the diabetes nurse and left a message

Focus on looking after yourself @corriefan Work won’t care and they won’t want you in with a tummy bug anyway. It’s good your ketones are ok. Try sipping sugary Coke. I find that helps with stomach upsets. I also do not pre-bolus and am wary with corrections as I find blood sugar can plunge from high to low. So I correct if I need it and if I know I’ve kept the Coke/Dextro/food down.

Thank you Inka feel so sick still x

Hopefully today will be the worst day of it and you should feel a little more normal tomorrow. When you do try to eat, stick to bland things like crackers and toast. I usually take Dioralyte when I can stomach it too as it helps make me feel better. Then just eat lightly for a few days until your stomach has recovered. Remember to keep hydrated. I always find water tastes weird, so a sugar-free squash might go down easier (in tiny sips).

Thank you so much I'm a bit worried I will have to go in to hospital as feeling quite dizzy but can't eat much trying to drink but can't drink a lot

Sorry to hear this @corriefan

Do look after yourself.

Here are some Sickday Rules if you need them?

Don’t hesitate to get medical advice if you think you need it @corriefan Having a stomach bug is scary with Type 1. Can you have little sips of Coke? Even little sips will help.

A couple of times I've been ill and been told to go into or stay at work - the first time the whole floor in the office block was wiped out by the 'flu' I brought back from London after a training course. The second time I said I should go home as I was nauseous. The manager was angry, sent me up to the top floor to 'be disciplined' by top management. The lift stopped with a lurch, my stomach lurched likewise, but didn't stop.
The top floor loos were men's, they alternated between floors on the top four floors - by the time I found the ladies there was nothing left inside me anyway.....
My manager got a rocket over that.
When someone is unwell, management coming down on them heavily can be rather counter productive.

Hi @corriefan

Try not to panic as that will only make your stomach worse (easy said I know).

Try and find something on TV that will take your mind off things and just relax as much as possible

Alan 😉

PS, tomorrow is a new day
