Is this true? My mum and her mum used to say feed s cold, starve a fever. There may be some truth in it because I've eaten so much this past 2 day, a week ago today i had raging sore throat, that's gone now and i have a runny nose and sneezing lots with aching and tiredness, quire run down. I was going to GP but wondered what can really be done for it, I get thrush from antibiotics and that is something i can certainly do without! I've had cravings for diet coke and have had 2 cans in 2 days and i had given them up 3 months ago after reading th caffeine can raise my BMs, so i do feel guilty tonight for lapsing and eating a small slice of walnut cake!! 😛

I don't know if it's true, but I get a superhuman appetite when I get a cold, and certainly it takes a lot of energy for the immune system to fight off an attack. I say do what your body wants when you're ill, it knows best, and I'm sure those walnuts are packed with zinc which is great for the immune system (I can always justify a cake). Hope you feel better soon 🙂

Something from the BBC website, research done by real scientists.

Hi kookycat its mad how the hunger is and you made me lol about the walnuts in the cake 🙂

If it's 'lady parts' thrush Laura - apply natural yoghurt to the infected area, err on the inside. If you can't think how you'd get it there I'll tell you.

If it's in your mouth and throat - gargle with apple cider vinegar.

Both great anti-fungal agents.

Probably not worth trying until you finish the ABs, but get whichever you need in before you finish them, so you can attack the day after.

I hope you feel better soon Laura 🙂

I always find when i am poorly i could eat a horse, a whole one 😉 and like yourself if i take antibiotics i end up with the lady thrush so i try to avoid them.

But rest and drink plenty of fluids and i don't mean alcohol, that is not an excuse to drink plenty of that :D

I think your body knows what it needs, if you feel hungry then eat something, if you don't then don't. But always drink plenty of water 🙂

Dear Trophywench you have made me lol. Oh yes lady thrush god the yoghurt sounds good even if to cool my bits down (sorry everyone)

Well you could sit in a washing up bowl of it, but that's probably not practicable. And such a waste of nice youghurt.

I remember a friend saying she used it for thrush but she found the fruit made a mess and stained her underwear, cos it squished every time she sat down.

We did have much the same SOH though !

You apply it to the INSIDE of your bits Laura.

Trophywench i have applied the said yoghurt and ahhh cooled one's bits nicely lol lol 🙂 oh my GSOH is a wonderful trait 🙂
