Hey!

I've had diabetes for over 10 years now. I've always injected in my stomach which now looks awful! I feel like I look like I have a baby bump!

I've been doing some research and I'm pretty sure it's lipohypertrophy - fatty lumps under the skin from not rotating my injection sites enough.

I've read that if you stop injecting in that spot for 3 months or so it should heal on it's own. However I think at my stage the damage is done and my only option will be liposuction.

Has anyone else any experience of this and how did it work out for you? Did it clear up on it's own and how severe was it?

Thanks!

Welcome!
I am sure someone with experience will be along soon!

I haven't experienced it, but the nurse atthe hospital has told me I can inject in the fatty areas at the top of my leg or if I have someone round who can do the injection for me in the fatty area of the bottom. She also said if they are rested the lumpy areas do improve in time
