As you know my bs has been constantly hi (20+) well this morning it was 10. something lowest it has been for ages Went out and came over funny in co-op all hypo systoms hot thirsty dizzy headache the works managed to get home bs was 9.8 which because my bs have been running so hi is like a hypo to me. Didt treat as hypo Is this normal if bss have been so high does the body trick its self into thinking you are having a hypo

In a nutshell, yeah..................

If your body has got used to higher levels, it will give off warning signs when levels change as it believes something is wrong/not normal...........

I know when I've been running too high for a while I can have hypo symptoms when they start to reach more normal levels. I know others in here have had the same, so yes, I reckon it's normal.

Mond you, when I've been running normal to low, I can have a real hypo and not realise it.

Sneaky critter this Big D eh?

Mind you, when I've been running normal to low, I can have a real hypo and not realize it.

Sneaky critter this Big D eh?

One of the disadvantages of too good control...........:(..............something I have yet to experience......

hope you're feeling better Gail. Hypo symptoms are still horrible to experience, even if your results say you're not. But yes, this is likely to happen if you run high for a long time as it's what your body is used to (or not used to). This is why it's important to test before treating! 🙂 Good luck Gail, and well done on the good results (not focusing on the hypo symptoms!)

Yes gail It's because your BS have been hi alot and then your body has this low thrown at it, it will affect you. Hope you are fine now and I'm glad you managed to get back home safe and sound 🙂 Sheena X

hope you'll feeling better..

Sometimes these sorts of hypo's can put off some diabetics from achieving better control.. As yep hypo's aren't pleasent expeirinces at all..

But you can with these fool type's of hypo's fool your body to think that you'v treated it and sometimes it does have the advantage that it aids the recovery time and impact..

That is by eating something that isn't carbohydrated, perhaps a chunck of cheese or piece of meat... Even a portion of sugar free jelly.. All things that don't inpact on the BG's..
