Sorry to moan, but after my horrid chest infection that lasted 3 weeks and sent my BS readings into the late 20s... 3 of 26+. I now am having the same blurry eyes I had when I was first diagnosed. I mentioned it to the doc and he said it was just the high readings. These are getting a lot lower... About 6 - 8 ( still not low enough)
How long will it be before my eyes improve? Do you think that is the reason why they have gone blurry ?

Hi Ann I'm sorry that I don't have any answers to your questions but I hope that your eyes stop feeling blurry soon

your GP is right, high numbers can make your eyes go blurry. I remember just before Carol was diagnosed, she said to me that she thinks she needs glasses. Unfortunately, I can't remember how long it took for the vision to get better, but we did go to the optician a few weeks later and he said he wouldn't prescribe Carol any glasses just yet, as he didn't know if they were bad because of recently being diagnosed with D or not.

It took me two to three weeks after diagnosis to get my eyesight back to normal Ann. Hope yours get better very soon 🙂

Thanks, it is such a nuisance !!

Think it took me around a couple of months to warrant getting the prescription changed.

Dec 2012 had new lens prescription, Jan 2013 noticed my BS was very high. Took until Feb to convince doctors there was some thing wrong. Feb started new meds. Think March the meds were changed again, May BS was stable and noticed my eye sight had changed, new eye test and a new prescription issued for weaker lenses.

I had problems with my eyes a couple of months ago when my levels were very high. Levels still not perfect running between 6-10(more 10) but my eyes have returned to normal. Took about 3 weeks go see an improvement as my levels improved.

I've only got one working eye but I find my vision changes for all sorts of reasons - high readings, low readings, cold weather, hot weather, too much alcohol, not enough alcohol, too much computer work or just general tiredness.

Started using reading glasses at work for the first time this summer but I don't need them all the time as sometimes my vision is fine

I now have three different sets of reading glasses on the go ... such a nuisance. I shall just have to be patient I guess :(
