booked my first eye test Friday 13th July (good job I’m not superstitious) luckily they do them at my local surgery so driving isn’t an issue. Just a little apprehensive now 😳

My first mince pie test is 1st June. Thought I had to contact them then a letter came thru the post. Gawd bless the NHS.....walking distance as well. Result.

Nothing to worry about. The eye drops sting a bit, and you would be wise to take a pair of sunglasses with you (it is ALWAYS blazing sunshine when you leave the appointment, no matter how cloudy when you go in!)

Pupils will be scary-big for a few hours, so you can freak out anyone you meet by pretending to be an alien until then. 🙂

You should then get results in the post in a week or two after they;ve been properly checked, but the operator may give you an indication of whether there's anything obvious.

Had my report from the jelly scan on my heart “mild to moderate heart impairment” “we would expect improvement in heart function over time”

Your lucky to have them local, in the 14 years i have been having them, I have always had to travel, anywhere from across town, to more often 10 miles away.

Had my third eye check on Wednesday. It was very cloudy, so didn't bother taking my sunglasses, but yes, you've guessed it, bright sunshine by the time I left the opticians. It's a weird sensation that lasts a few hours, but certainly not painful. Good luck.

Had to text my friend when I was finished for her to come and get me. Good job she knew what I was trying to say because I had no idea what I was typing :D
