Had my annual eye screening this morning, the hospital was very quiet, looked like a lot of people forgot to turn up for their appointment.

The photographs looked good on the small screen, no visible damage 🙂, now just got to wait until they view the results on the big screen to see what's happened to the back ground damage that was there last year.

Good luck with the results pav.

Not surprised it was quiet dont get many hosp appt for a saturday lol

Its the first time I have known them do sat appointments, nice walk their and in and out in about 30 mins.

So far so good Pav, let's hope the final result is as good. My last one was also on a Saturday, I've moved since then so I have no idea what Basildon's service will be like. I'm due to go quite soon.

Hi all, I have my first eye photograph next month, bit nervous :(

Its a simple procedure, eye drops in the eye to open the pupils so they can take a good photo. They take 2 photos of each eye and if like my hospital they let you see the photos on the small screen and will answer any questions. You will then get a letter a couple or so weeks later once they have screened the photos on a big screen, saying all clear or if they spot any thing.

They also do a quick vision test to see what your eye sight is like before they apply the drops.

If some is wrong they will call you sooner.

In one way I am unlucky, I have to have 2 different drops applied as my eyes don't react to just the one type of eye drops, one type does sting for a few seconds.
What ever you do don't drive as the drops do effect your vision for a few hours, if sunny take your sunglasses.

Thank you Pav, my appointment is with an optician in my town, I was given a list to chose from
opticians who do! the retinal screening, so not a hospital visit, but guess its the same check! as I was
told about the drops!

Hi biddy
Don't worry - you'll be fine 🙂
The eye drops aren't very nice but the feeling passes so its not too bad !

Some things going wrong with the hospital, just had my letter back from them in less than a week. 🙂

Been given the all clear, even the background damage they found last year has reversed itself. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Its about the only good news I have had, and very relieved it was all clear was dreading that there was going to be more damage. Looks like I got my levels sorted out in time.

Other good news hopefully sorting out a new bike (second hand) tomorrow, a friend is going to give it a good check over as he has had several of this model and knows what to look out for. Insurance costs sorted, just need to confirm and put 2 new tyres on it.

Had a barney with a doctor over what he said, and the decent one is now leaving the practice.

Great to hear the very positive news Pav - fantastic.

Helen

Thanks all, if left to what the docs said to do it would at a guess be a different story.

That's brlliant news about your eyes Pav, I'm really pleased🙂

Glad the eye check results were so good Pav. Is the good doctor going somewhere you can follow him?
