My husband had his eyes tested at home by the outside clinic .when he has it done at hospital he has to read the board to see what letters he can read then has drops into dilate his pupils .the woman who came from outside clinic put drops in as soon as she came through the door which then made his eyes blurry then when he couldn't read the chartroper lyrics she said he was unsafe to drive and he must inform dvla .has anyone else come across this please

Sounds as if the women shouldn't be let lose with drop or advice let alone doing an eye test.

I agree with Martin. They got it the wrong way around! Check eyes then put drops in.

Poor show, I think.

@Challenger59 . I agree with @trophywench and @Pumper_Sue , this does need need to be reported as she is not following the correct procedures, which needs to be addressed.
I have never had the drops in first.

Dear DVLA,
I have been asked by the lady concerned to inform you of her incompetence in carrying out a basic eye examination.
As you and I both know it is impossible to read anything once dilating drops have been put in eyes and it is illegal to drive whilst the drops are still active.
I have done as requested and informed you of the situation and await your reply with interest.

Your sincerely

Hi @Challenger59

If I tried to read the board after the drops I would be useless.
It would be good to follow this up as there may be others who would just take them at their word.
