Extreme diet.

The thing about the ND was, that because it was being run and strictly supervised by medical staff - the meal replacements contained all the very necessary trace elements which the body would otherwise lack on such a low calorie, restricted diet. So if someone just decides to go on a 600 cal diet not very carefully planned to contain everything necessary - as has been said - it can and most likely will cause problems - bigger ones than the person had before they started.

I think you should at least ease up a bit because the rate of weight loss to date is liable to slow down anyway - and awful lot of it in the first weeks of any calorie restricted weight loss is purely, water. Once that's gone - it's going to slow down considerably anyway.
