Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Dear all,

I am an Msc health psychology student conducting research into the factors that influence HbA1c levels in people with diabetes.
I am seeking people with diabetes to complete a short online survey related to your diabetes management and your general thoughts, feelings and attitudes on a day to day basis, as well as some demographic information.
I have also been diabetic for 20 years and am therefore trying extremely hard to conduct studies such as these to help improve diabetes management and understanding.
If you would like to participate or would like to find out more, please follow the link below. The information sheet will provide you with detailed information regarding the process of the study.

For further information please contact the researcher, Chloe Redshaw (details below).

Thank you for your time!

Yours faithfully,

Chloe Redshaw

Yes, I have approved it 🙂 Chloe, I removed the email addresses as they can be picked up by people you may not wish to receive emails from. People can contact you using the Private Messaging system 🙂

Done and dusted. Couple of questions on the demographics that I had to find a nearest answer for but shouldn't make much difference. 🙂

I may prove the hypothesis false. But it doesn't take into account those of us who are assisted by significant others who override certain negative feelings and drive us towards better care.

I hope it helps towards understanding of the diabetic psyche. We're a complicated bunch, as you'll be only too aware ! 🙄

done............

All done. Good luck with it. XXXXX

Done.

Curious to know how useful it is though.

All done. Would be interesting to hear the results at some point because this is a very interesting angle that I hadn't considered before. Good luck!

Me too!

Found some questions repeatative and some I had to read more than twice!
(Maybe its Dizzy Blonde Syndrome!)

The one I found trickiest was the one about having more respect for yourself and you had to agree or disagree. What if you were happy with your level of self-respect? You would disagree, but then that sort of suggests that you don't really care about yourself because you don't wish you had more self respect! In my mind anyway 🙂 It's a bit like asking a man if he has stopped beating his wife and only taking a yes or no answer...

The other slight problem I have with these sorts of surveys is when you have to scroll down the page and then lose the headings of the options off the top of the screen, so have to keep going back up to make sure you're about to tick the right box.

Type of diabetes and how long you have had it are optional questions yet academic qualifications and marital staus are mandatory:confused:

I closed the window when I noticed this.

It's about HbA1c so the type and duration of your diabetes isn't directly relevant, whereas marital status and education may have a bearing on how some of the answers are interpreted (I'm guessing! 😉)
