Hi, all new to this, quick background my wife booked me in for a check up recently, as I have sleep apnea and was unsure if present CPAP machine was functioning properly to book in for a sleep test. result - call from doctors demanding I come into the surgery without fail that day!
Outcome - exceptionally high blood pressure, extremely high sugar levels, (as well as sleep deprivation, over weight etc) Started on Metaformin 500mg which caused severe gastric spasms - three days off work - I am a deputy head of a Special Needs School
Medication now settled
BP back to as it was - I have always has on the mark BP
Low cholesterol levels (doc very happy with that) low potassium levels
Slight change to diet - reduced carb in take and within first couple of weeks lost 8lbs!
Got my head into the 'Type 2 Zone' with new targets in hand (I gave up smoking after 30yrs several years ago - no patches etc no interest in ever smoking again).
Age 52 19st 5'7inch small
Looking forward to sharing ideas/thoughts/support/help/advice
