Hi. How long have you been on Metformin .
Yes it’s a good idea to test, if your blood glucose is high it can make you very tired and testing just before then two hours after starting to eat along with a food diary ,will help you find out which carbohydrates are the culprits.
If they are not high then other caused need to be ruled out , ie Anaemia or Thyroid problems , their are others.
I am not sure if Metformin can case exhaustion , I will check

Hi it’s me again. I have no wish to worry you but
After a quick search I read that Extreme tiredness can be a rare but serious side effect of Metformin , so it would be wise to contact your Gp ASAP.
Here’s us where I found the info
Scroll down to serious side effects

Please let us know how you get on

Also worth getting your vitamin D levels checked out too. That can make you feel exhausted

Hope you find a reason for your tiredness @T2lynne

I find tiredness (and grumpiness!) can be associated with high, low, and erratic blood glucose levels, but it’s difficult to spot that until yli can check your levels again. But as others have said, there can be many reasons for fatigue... and not *everything* is always diabetes-related!

Let us know what the Dr suggests 🙂
