Thanks everyone, jelly babies are now installed in every available pocket, bag, item of clothing, and location I could ever visit, along with a carton of juice (yuk) in the bag for emergency emergency emergency purposes (not drinking that muck unless I have to so it's safe with me 🙄). I have also triple checked I've injected the right amount, then checked again. Basal dialled down, so I've got the full metal jacket going today 🙂

Hope your day is a little less fraught sweetie xx

Someone is picking on the green ones again!!

Does anyone else remember the small sweets that came as a necklace? in the 60s I think.

Kookycat I am still on tiny doses after eight years. Just sensitive to insulin and I too am surprised when I eat out with someone else with T1 as we need very different amounts.

Hope you have a better day today Kooky.

They are still around - I seem to recall them being touted around Valentine's Day made into underwear (for both sexes)...

Not quite sure Id want to eat it after its been worn!!!

Hmm well today didn't go so well either. Pre-lunch was 4.1 and post lunch 11.5 😱. Now I don't react to food like that so I'm guessing basal needs to go down more because that lunchtime spot is causing quite the problem. It was back down to 5.2 pre dinner and I didn't eat enough carb to cause a spike like that at lunch unless I was rebounding. Now I'm hovering in hypo territory before bed. Ruddy Norah 😡. Oh and this horror unfolds just as I'm revving to a nice relaxing few days off work....perfect. Anyone mind if I torture the diabetes fairy a bit, just to level the playing field?

It all sounds horribly familiar, Kooky - insulin sensitivity is rubbish, sorry to hear you're having such a rotten time with it too. My correction dose is 1 unit for a 5mmol/l drop as well, and that extra half unit you accidentally injected would have had the same effect on me.

Torture the diabetes fairy all you like as far as I'm concerned!

I keep these for emergencies - always one in bag, one beside bed, at least one in kitchen, and one in pocket when I go out. They taste horribly sweet but do the trick when bgl's under 2 and dropping rapidly! They work faster and more effectively than anything else for me.

So sorry to hear your pancreas has been playing up (again!) hope your weekend has been more settled 🙂
