I have read the information from Gloucestershire. I got the appointment at end of October for December I explained I didn't know how I would be after the op and I was likely to have uveitis. She said i could phone to bring forward anytime but she would defer til April. The scans I've had at the retinal clinic are both eyes. It took 6 months from referral to be assessed at the hospital then two months until the op. It was more complicated and longer than usual as the pupil had to be unstuck and was marked to be done by a consultant. It would be easier if they just referred me to the hospital. I will be on eye drops until I have seen the consultant. I intend to ask if the screening should be at the hospital and if any of the scans already taken could be used

it’s really important to attend these scans ASAP. I’m shocked that you’ve postponed it for so long, by April it will be likely at least a year since you developed diabetes without having any damage done before you were diagnosed picked up.

The last time I had the NHS eye screening they thought there was a problem, so they sent off letter to say urgent treatment needed....................................... 8 months later I was seen at the eye hospital who hadn't even got the scans once located they could find nothing wrong.
I now refuse point blank to attend the screening.
