Good Morning fellow Empag users. Since I have been taking this med 10 mg daily I have had abnormally high Serum Creatinine - I wonder if anyone else has experienced this after a period of taking Empagliflozen?

My blood results this time were not so good. The normal range is in [square brackets]

1) Serum creatinine level 96 umol/L [45.0 - 84.0]; Above high reference limit

2) Cholesterol - so to reduced non HDL to below 2.5? Personally i don't think my levels warrant a high intensity statin!? (not that I am medically qualified, just by comparison to other countries, like Germany and the US also British Hearth Foundation

Full Lipid Profile In patients with CVD, optimise lipid lowering therapy with high
intensity statin+/- Ezetimibe to reduce non-HDL to below 2.5mmol/L
(See 'NHSE summary of National Guidance for Lipid Management' -
July 2021)
Serum cholesterol level 5.6 mmol/L
Serum triglyceride levels 1.33 mmol/L
Serum HDL cholesterol level 1.60 mmol/L
Calculated LDL cholesterol level 3.4 mmol/L
Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio 3.5
Serum non high density lipoprotein cholesterol level 4.0 mmol/L
--------------------------------------

3) Abnormal - on full blood count - Red blood cell distribution width 14.2 % [8.0 - 14.0]; Above high reference limit

4) HbA1C - 56 mmol - borderline - yay :D

5) Vitamin D3 - Borderline - 93 nmol - I will just stop supplementing for a bit (I have only been taking 1,300 IU in a multivit

Interested in any feedback about the Empagliflozen - kidney issue - I do wonder if the med may be upsetting other body functions. I have been feeling rather tired of late, energy seems to expire after 2 hours if I go into town for instance.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Wishing everyone a feeling good day, we are to enjoy some warm sunshine this weekend 🙂

I've been on it for nearly 2 years, if anything my creatine levels have dropped slightly from low 70s to high 60s. I've had no side effects whatsoever, though I do make an effort to drink the minimum of 2 litres of sugar free liquids every day as per the leaflet I was given by my GP.

I also found that in the 7 months after I started taking it, I lost 21lbs. Before I started it, I'd struggled losing any weight, so I see it as a bit of a wonder drug for me, as metformin alone did absolutely nothing for me.
