Hi Ellowyne

Thought I would start a new thread. I have heard from the lady I was looking for, she has just emailed me and has said some amazing stuff. I will private message you with her details so you can contact her if you wish. My recommendation is yes definitely. However she is private and I have no idea of costs. I do know approx 5 families who have seen her and without exception they are all so very tremendously happy.

She says this :

I do see people of all ages - from tiny tots to very elderly. Our clinic caters for all age groups & all types of diabetes.


I'll put the rest on the pm for you, she says a lot more.

Just to quickly let all know as I know some of you were worried about Ellowyne. She has been in touch with me and she now has the details I had for her. She is ok.

Wow!...here come the tears! I've just logged on and, well, I was so amazed and touched to see this lovely thread..I can't thank you all enough, I would be completely lost without the fantastic and kind support I have received here...I am so taken back that you care about me and have taken the time to post here...Thank you!

Adrienne, thank you again to you, your message was so kind, I will be getting in touch with the private Dr...I read up on Incretic therapies, she is refering to Byetta and similar medicine's....Unfortunately, this is a medication I will not be able to take, because of my Pancreaus, it is something my Consultant had already looked into :( However, I am still going to phone, I will ahve to raise the funds to go and see her but I will be going!

I am awaiting to hare from my GP, she is going to speak to my diabetic consultant to discuss with him the possibilities of putting me on Levimir, or similar. I know he will probably say no, if he does refuse me, well, I will ask him to state this in a letter and see where I can go legally with this, I feel that this would be an issue of infringemnet on my human rights.

I am sorry I have not been back to post recently, I have been feeling very down and depressed and I really hate to sound like a moaner You all have been of great support to me and I can not tell you homw much this has meant to me...you have all kept me sane! However, I don't wish to become a burden, you all have enough troubles of your own to cope with and, at this time, I feel very needy!...I do not want to put on any of you, I know you will all offer your continued support because you are all so kind, but I just feel uncomfortable feeling this way....depressed and vulnerable.

I will let you know how things go, please do not worry if I do not post for a while, I need to get myself out of this depressed feeling I know, but I tend to hide away when I feel this bad....sorry.

Well Ellowynne, you know of course that we don't think of you as a burden. I don't have to deal with the problems you've had to cope with so I'm more than happy to offer you some positive energy. Hoping you get some good news soon and that the future starts looking brighter🙂

And should you feel the desire to post and seek out a bit of support, PLEASE don't stop yourself - I for one would much rather hear from you than have you enduring your troubles on your own.

I really hope it works out Ellowyne. Even if you can only get to see her once, an opinion from a Harley Street specialist carries a great deal of weight and could well make your medical team reconsider their stance.

I'm glad you posted on here. I think people maybe thinking I was making it up that I had heard from you 😉

I agree with Northerner, don't be a stranger. You are sooo NOT a burden. Goodness, helping you takes my mind off other things, you in essense did me a favour not the other way around. 🙂

I agree ring the private lady, she will not know about the problems with some meds, I told her there were some problems but not what, as I don't know, but if anyone can help and come up with something she will.

I have another friend and her daughter off to see her on Friday this week. Everyone always has great things to say.

If anyone else ever wants her details to go private for a one off or whatever give me a shout.

She has put people on pumps when they can't get one locally, though that costs but then sometimes the PCT will take over the funding of consumables.

Good luck Ellowyne and do post when you are down so we can cheer you up. 🙂
