Opened a new box of test strips as I was down to my last strip. Ten fell out and they were for B-Ketone. No use to me whatsoever. Will have to telephone the Chemist at 9.0 tomoz morning as they have issued me the wrong prescription. Only one strip for testing before bed tonight. I only hope they can get me some otherwise I will have to pester my surgery and see if I can borrow some. Kinda spooky not having any strips in the house though. 😱

Hope you can get some Austin! I nearly ran out the other day and it does worry you! Have you got an Optium Plus? I had 5 attempts to get a correct prescription for blood strips - kept getting the ketone ones prescribed, but spotted before I got the items!

Me got Optium Xceed and opened the box without looking and eeek wrong strips then looked at the purple labeled box...damn!

I was nearly in that position a few weeks ago, but I always read test strip boxes before leaving chemist, so discovered their error (1 of 4 boxes was for ketones, other 3 were OK). Unfortunately, they didn't have any more blood glucose test strips in the shop, so I had to return a few days later.

Prescription was correct, just the dispensing was wrong. Chemist changed shelf arrangments, so that glucose and ketone strips were kept separate by something different, as boxes look very similar.

All ok now. Profound apologies from the dispensing chemist and a new box of test strips handed over. Will do as Copepod does in future and check everything at point of collection. Thanks all, AM.

test strips

As diabetics our testers are our life lines i once left mine at Newcastle airport and had to buy one in cyprus and there levels are different to ours it was a nightmare always take a spare now cost me ?100 for strips and tester thank god for nhs

I always order more on prescription when I open my last box. But this time it seemed like time must have gone so much quicker because when I went to open my last box I discovered that the last box I opened was infact my last box. So I had to go for 2 1/2 days without testing until i got some more!
