@s'nic I do have a fair few 'toys' in the kitchen, but nothing beats the pressure cooker when you get back from the folk club and realise that the chicken for diner is still in the freezer and rock hard.
One of my aunties artexed the ceiling of her prefab by putting a whole packet of rice into the pressure cooker .....
That would be when I'd eat something else and have chicken the next day, hehe
Artexing the ceiling with rice ... this is not going to convince me that I need a pressure cooker 😛

When I went to work in the lab I was shown the great dent in the ceiling with the cautionary tale of a previous technician who had left the pressure cooker (used for sterilizing things) on the gas ring unattended and it had exploded and made the dent and scared everyone to death. It was lethal and I refused to use it.
Can add my support to the pressure cooker idea but focussing on the stand alone type, not the thing you put on a stove top waiting for the accident to happen.
I have a Tefal cook4me (many others are available) with an Extra Crisp lid which effectively turns the pressure cooker into a small fan oven -- or if you want marketing speak, an air frier. Since getting it a couple of years ago I have figured out how to cook almost anything in it - casseroles, soups, roasts, cakes and even bread - and my conventional oven hardly gets used. Although you can theoretically grill and fry in it, I find it less faff and easier to control to use a conventional grill for grilling and a frying pan on the hob for frying or reducing sauces.

In the instructions it says never leave a pressure cooler unattended.
There is a pressure release valve, and the seal should melt and blow out, but these things get neglected and clogged up. Apart from the rice pudding incident, no other problems have been admitted to amongst my relatives.

People in the lab should have known better, the monster was so old I expect the instructions were long gone and this predated any H & S, risk assessments etc.
Well I got my air fryer (can also roast, grill, bake, reheat or dehydrate).
I was looking at different models, and saw it's footprint on the counter was almost the same as the small model.
So I have a very useful 5.7L model, single basket 24 x 24.5 cm. I often cook 3+ servings and freeze portions, so it will accommodate larger containers, or flan dishes, even full size cake tins.
I just got it set up after giving it a quick wash, and ran the initial 'test' program, so looking forward to test cooking some items
I found a 20 x 17cm silicone liner, apparently the shop sells a 20 x 12cm one which would effectively transform the single drawer into a duel drawer. I'll check a different branch for that another day.
