What was your motivation after all these years....?

My wife and I do a lot of fishing and hiking five miles to a good spot can get really tedious. With a car we can access more remote and varied locations and carry more gear. Just that really. We're both going to learn.

Good luck to you both! 🙂 I took my test and failed it twice about 25 years ago and decided it wasn't for me. Depending where you live in the country, I'm glad that I didn't pursue it personally, there's far too much traffic nowadays for me to cope. :0

Yes, good luck to you both!

If you're going to out of the way places you might also consider taking a camping stove, pans & teabags as well as fishing gear

I took my test later than many people, aged 34
I also surprised myself by becoming quite interested in car mechanics, though at 67 I'm getting too fat & old to be lying on the concrete changing gearboxes

I took my test 10 yrs ago and passed at almost 40, my mum didnt learn to drive until she was about 55

I was 36!

I just got so annoyed with myself one day at work - when someone in the office who was literally as thick as two dozen short planks, passed and thought - blood hell Jen - if she can do it apparently so easily - then you've GOT to be able to!' And went home and booked lessons - failed the first test - when I got up that morning I just couldn't drive LOL - and the wait then was months so put in again for it straight away - and drove hundreds of miles in between, and passed it fine the second time.
