Hi there , type 2 diabetic, managing with metformin, was almost
in remission.. 48 HBAC1 Jan
been put on duloxotine for fibromyalgia and bloods have gone from 5s to 11.9 steadily increasing, has anyone else had this issue. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Linski and welcome to the forum - sorry I can't help you with your question, but some medications can raise your BG - hopefully someone else will have more knowledge/experience of this particular drug can provide some information

Hi Sorry to hear you are experiencing high levels. I do not know if Duloxetine itself can increase BG (it should be listed on the Patient Information Leaflet) but pain and inflammation, which I am guessing you are taking them for, can certainly increase BG levels.
I am guessing you are also perhaps less mobile because of the fibromyalgia and again less physical activity can increase your BG because you are not burning it off.

Sorry to see your levels have gone up.

Duloxetine can, according to Google, modestly raise blood glucose, and the effect could be worse in people with diabetes.
As already mentioned, the pain and inflammation from the fibromyalgia might also contribute.
I'd talk to your medical folk about it. They might have to tweak your medication to try to help bring the levels down.

Hiya
Also on Duloxetine for Fibro pain, had to drop my dose down to one a day because my heart rate went loopy and my bloods do seem a touch higher than what they should be considering my diet now but not quite as high as yours.
Might be worth speaking to your GP and seeing if there's a dosage or medication tweak that might be better for your bloods.
