Sorry I didn't mean anything by mentioning insulin, I just wasn't sure if there were different guidelines for insulin dependant xx
Always worth noting whether on insulin. Interestingly, their different for T1 and T2.

Dr Google is never a good idea!! :D xx

It turns me into a hyperchrondiac! I have every symptom of everything I look up! :confused:

@Spireite72 My DSN has set me a target of below 10.0 two hours after eating & isn’t unduly concerned as long as I’m not above 12.0. Like you I drop as the day goes on & there’s quite a bit of difference from the morning & evening readings. I take Levemir once at lunchtime & Novorapid for my meals! But, the last fortnight isn’t typical for me after sad & distressing news about my sister dying from cancer!

This is what I work on as a guide @Spireite72
I try to keep mine below 7.9 after 2 hours

Yes I think those are the T2 suggestions from the previous NICE guideline. The current (2015) guideline NG28 doesn't have a reference to post-meal BGs and only recommends monitoring by HbA1c(!) which, if you ask me, is completely nuts. :confused:

Had another Hypo today after lunch 3.2 I treated it few jelly babies back up to 4.3 had a pear and a few almonds at 5.6 now

Glad you are feeling OK. What did you eat for lunch?

Grilled chicken ham salad with feta.

You’ve not mentioned any carbohydrate that might have included. I’m not sure if it works the same in your shoes, but for me, if I were injecting 4 units at lunchtime I would need to be including 40-45g of carbs (amounts for you may be different). Just wondering if the carb content (or lack of it!) in your lunch might have been involved in the subsequent hypo?

Totally Agree Mike, we need both start and finish or what is the point of it all I ask myself.

Phone call from my DSN today (check up) very pleased with what I’m doing is happy for me to stop NovoRapid and said I’m doing the right thing reducing my Lantus gradually. Said my BGL are amazing from where I started. Going to see her in the morning I have what I think are called blood spots on my lower legs(side affect of statins) said not to worry but wants to check them. So of course I’m now worried.

Been to see my DSN this morning have blood spots on my lower legs looks like a rash but not itchy. Tested my kidneys all clear. Looks like it could be a reaction to my statins. But nothing to worry about just need to moisturise them and use a cream they are giving me at night.

@Spireite72
You really are doing very well, you should be chuffed too bits.

Good attitude Spireite...and that happens to most of us at some point...it's natural...you'll get to the point where that happens less often.
