Personally I'd contact the dentist in the morning, or call in at your A&E to get it looked at if they can't see you immediately.
(providing you have had your covid vaccines)
They is no point in trying to second guess what caused it, just focus on treatment to improve it.

It’s expensive but the relief was incredible. My problem was an allergy causing huge burns in my mouth and it was so painful but the Difflam really eased the pain. Do check it’s suitable for you first obviously. I’ve never had a dry socket so don’t know what kind of pain you’re feeling, but I think you should phone your dentist tomorrow maybe for some advice.
How interesting about your mouth burns (not pleasant for you) but my OH has a allergy to some sort of grain and a particular mango called a kidney mango found in Africa which gives him huge blood blisters in his mouth.
