yes they done that on friday but still not good, and most of it fell out .My dry socket i suffered a few years back. Dentist packed it with something to encourage healing.
ho thanks l feel worse nowYes i feel your pain. Mine felt worse than the toothache prior to tooth extraction. I have to be very careful with my teeth and any extractions have to be done at the hospital. This is due to the radiotherapy treatment i had for my oral cancer. Funnily enough i asked my dentist about removing a loose tooth Last week. His reply best to not have extractions in my case as it can cause and i quote " Dry socket for life" i was like wow! No way do i want any extractions.

Dry sockets are horrid things and can take a little while to fully resolve, but once it starts healing, even a little, the pain should ease.

Rinsing your mouth with salt water should help prevent infection, the dentist would normally advise taking paracetamol to relieve the pain. There is nothing worse than a painful mouth. I hope you get some respite soon but do call your dentist tomorrow if it is not improving.ho thanks l feel worse now

yes lm takeing codermal pain killers but still painfullIt could be if your blood sugar is high @rosie1 Or it could just be bad luck. Are you in a lot of pain?
l dont smokeIf your blood sugars have been running high, it could (and I stress could) have increased the chances of the socket being dry, but living with diabetes doesn't necessarily mean this happens every time.
To be honest, there are many factor that can influence a socket becoming dry. Some of the most common include a difficult extraction, overly vigorous rinsing, smoking, the extraction being in the lower jaw, and even being a woman.
If you are a week on from the diagnosis of your dry socket, I'd hope improvement is close, but if you have concerns, please contact your dentist for specific advice.
thanks Inka, yes lm a very forget full l some times forget to take my metformin tablets there so big yukIt’s expensive but the relief was incredible. My problem was an allergy causing huge burns in my mouth and it was so painful but the Difflam really eased the pain. Do check it’s suitable for you first obviously. I’ve never had a dry socket so don’t know what kind of pain you’re feeling, but I think you should phone your dentist tomorrow maybe for some advice.
