The results are in.
Latest HbA1c is 45 (was 55 3 months ago)
Serum cholesterol level 3.6 mmol/l
HDL 0.85 mmol/l
Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio 4.2

So it looks like the new medication is doing the trick.

Wow! The girl did well! Great results Stitch and good to see the cholesterol reducing too. Lap of honour please 🙂😛🙂

Yay! At last you are sorted. And not before time.🙂

Brilliant Stitch, it’s not just the medication, it’s to your credit too🙂

Well done and I agree with all the above

Just having a quick look at my test results online and the letter is there with my next steps. I have to make an appointment with the nurse for foot check, flu jab and BP check. Then they don't want to see me for 1 year (woohoo). Didn't think I'd ever get to the stage of yearly tests. There was one small bit of advice on the letter about making sure I drink more during the day as one of my kidney tests came back a tiny bit high (recommended highest level is 7.8 and mine was 8.1). Its the test for protein levels, but could be down to dehydration. But they said its nothing to worry about. Happy with my results.

That’s great news @Stitch147. I agree it’s not just the meds though they are obviously helping, it’s all your hard work too.

Well done, Stitch! That's brilliant.😛:D😛 And all because you fought their 'yeah, whatever' attitude...good for you.🙂

Great work. Thank goodness they seem to have got you sorted.

Great news Stitch!

So I received an email from the gp with a letter explaining all my test results and the next steps. And it says on there 'your blood glucose control has improved further with the addition of metformin. Please watch out for any hypos. Come in and see us to discuss a review of your medications if you are getting frequent hypos'. Ive had 1 hypo so far, so fingers crossed it stays this way. My next review will be April next year. I have an appointment tomorrow for bp check (I do it at home and take readings in), foot check and flu jab.

Great stuff Stitch! Keep it up 🙂
