Well who ever said it could be an abscess they were right , they have put me on three types of tabs two lots of antibiotic and pain killers as well ... That bloody NHs are a bunch of scare mungers ,, turns out dentists won't treet people with abscess's unless they have had a course of antibios .

Have you got the antibiotics and painkillers dispensed yet? Started taking yet?

Dentists can and do prescribe antiobitics, which is treatment, isn't it? Anyway, at last you have treatment, but it could have started much earlier - didn't you say that symptoms started on Thursday?

Did you remember to tell them that you had already taken some anti B's?
If not and if they are different make sure you do not get an interaction from them.

Yes the gave my the tabs at hospital . I know the dentist can prescribe antibios but the hospital told me that dentist like you to actually be on them before they see you for some reason . That's why they t old me make appointment after tuesday

My mum had the exact same problem as you last month, she made an emergency dentist appointment when she woke to find her face swollen and her eye half closed. The dentist prescribed her antibiotics straight away and told her to take painkillers too and the booked her back in for a few days later to see what had caused the problem.

I hope you feel much better soon, I know it made my mum feel quite rough for a few days. If this happens to you again please make a dental appointment asap.

turns out dentists won't treet people with abscess's unless they have had a course of antibios .

They don't want to run the risk of the pus spreading the infection to other parts and they need the inflamation to go down anyway. There are many things that can cause an abcess and some are worse than others. Usually a broad spectrum antibiotic sorts it, if not, they then move onto targetted antibiotics.

Tell you what guys i feel really ,really sick at the moment . Carnt close my eyes for feeling sick . It's almost like being a kid again on my first night out ... Havnt took the second Bach of antibios yet but think they will really mess me up . The drugs are called metronidazole.. Will start taking them mid day .

Word of advice, avoid alcohol like the plague on metronidazole!

Not that you probably feel like drinking at the moment anyway.

Yeh I herd that aswell apparently it makes you really sick if you have alcohol with those tablets. Is it because they are so strong?

It's not so much the strength as the chemical composition that causes the nasty reaction with alcohol.

Unfortunately you're likely to feel poorly the whole time you're taking them, but they do work. I was lucky to just feel a bit queasy with these tablets, but my son-in-law was very sick for the whole of his 10-day course. They are effective though.

They only gave me enoght till Tuesday till I make an appointment with dentist ... And these tabs are making me queezie aswell , and there as big as horse tablets lol

Another thing to remember is not to use a mouth wash with alcohol
