My driving licence was due to expire on 8th of June so I filled in all the renewal form and sent it off in May, not expecting to get my new licence for many months after reading about all the delays and backlog at the DVLA.
Well I'm pleased to say that my new licence arrived this morning, very pleased
 
If you have no other conditions, only want a car license and complete the online form, renewal seems to be very fast. I had my new license in 4 working days of completing the form. It arrived about a month before my old license was due to expire.
