Can anyone tell me how long after the processing date for your driving licence renewal, does your new licence arrive in the post please.

It does seem to vary, people who have needed medical assessment have waited months but if it is straightforward then not too long. I did mine on line back in May and it arrived 2 days later, I couldn't believe it as people had been saying they waited ages.
Hopefully they have improved by now.

Mine went with a new photo and the post office service they provide where they check everything for you on the Friday 3rd September 2021 and the dvla website says they processed those September applications around 3 weeks a month ago and I still haven't received my new licence in the post.

No medical complications, I can't understand it.

Renewed mine earlier this year - just a normal car licence (no C1 or anything to complicate the issue) I'd last previously renewed in 2018 so bog standard and came back within 10 days, exactly the same as every single renewal since I passed my test in the 1980s

You need to chase em up!!

I phoned dvla numerous times for days and all different times of day and have today phoned my MP and they will write to the Head of dvla and I should receive a phone call advising about what is happening.

I've just looked on line and it says they are doing the renewals needing a new photo from Sept 21st date. So If you sent yours in on the 3rd which is a Friday you have all the non working days to consider plus everyone else in that pile of renewals. So more than likely they will be starting yours just after Christmas.

As long as your GP has said you are fit to drive you can drive under rule 88. Which was stated quite clearly on your application form.
