Gail have you an after hours number you can ring or get to A&E, your GP is negligent in not making sure someone injects you.

But and this is a big but you need to help yourself by not drinking sugar laden fizzy pop.

I going through a very similar situation, and nearly at the point where at least one nurse agres insulin is the way forward.

Firstly if your doctors or your diabetic nurse is not good at dealing with diabetics, ask around to find if there are any better doctors practices that you can move to. I should of done this a lot sooner than I did.

To switch to insulin the docs want you to exhaust all other possible methods to control ones levels. I ssked this question recently and was told I am at the point of switching over, because I am on three different different meds to control my levels.

Due to other complications going on the doc won't switch me over as need to sort other meds out as well.

As Sue says you need to cut out the sugary drinks out completely to try and get your levels down and more stable.

If fizzy drinks are a must then I love lemonade and lime sugar free - just a bit different from straight lemonade and most supermarkets have own brand big bottles.

Quite right too Gail! I hope your SW can sort something out 🙂

I'm right behind you, Gail. What reason could your GP possibly have for not doing his job properly? You sit tight till you get your insulin. Plenty of people get their methadone on a daily basis, so why not an insulin-user?

Good luck with the move, btw.🙂

Just had a thought could they not send a district nurse to give you your Insulin!
