So I've come to the conclusion that Bread is far harder to give up than chocolate 😱

Do anyone have any suggestions on cutting it out. I have a love/hate relationship with bread anyway... I love it, but my stomach doesn't sometimes. So I'm ok with the idea of cutting it out completely.

I love crackers, but I'm not sure if they are any better for me, same with wraps.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks :D

Have a look at previus thr about Livlife bread from Waitrose. Low in carbs, 🙂

A lot of it is about finding how different breads affect you. I tend not to eat bread at all but I have found the burgen bread doesn't raise my blood sugar as quickly. I have however cut paninis and baguettes out completely as they are little better than chocolate in my experience.

The big problem though is a lot of 'truths' about bread don't always apply. Whole meal bread can spike some people as bad as the cheapest plasticky white loaf, for instance.

My advice would be this:

Rolls always contain a lot more carbs than you think
If you're buying a loaf, get one with smaller slices of bread - one of the reasons many seeded loafs have fewer carbs is because their slices are smaller
Wraps will get you every single time - they usually contain more carbs than sliced white BUT you can get low carb wraps with less than 5g of carbs from specialist suppliers which are amazing - particularly if you like cooking Mexican food
Sometimes combining bread with a high fat item can help cut the spike. Unfortunately, high fat plus high carb is a very good way of getting a high weight

Another option might be to get a bread maker and make your own, that way you know what's in it.

thanks, I'll give them a go.

There is a bread maker at Mr Doodle's house, so maybe I just need to make up a loaf or 2 at the weekend and have save them for in the week.

I think the main problem is finding something for lunch.... none are the normal sandwiches (which always made me tired and slightly bloated anyway) but I'm getting bored of salad and soups!

Here's what I had for my lunches last week... I got a pack of drumsticks, took the skin off and tossed batches of them in different mixes of herbs/spices and then roasted them. Took two per day, together with carrot sticks, celery and cucumber slices. Added a diet yogurt pot and a selection of fruit. Lost all except half a lb of my 10lb gain!
