Has anyone experienced a sore throat and blocked sinus when taking Metformin. Been taking it for just over a week and not sure if it's a sinus infections or a side effect of the Metformin

I have over 40 year history of nasal problems which precede Diabetes by about 30 years , and have noticed no increase in sinus problems. I have been on Metformin about 10 years.

Thanks for the reply I do suffer with my sinus so I guess I'm just in for another bout of it

I guess it's more likely to be coincidence than an effect of your new metformin @Susie P. As a general tip, if you're ever worried about medication, then it's worth asking a pharmacist, medication expert, no appointment required, so nearly always more accessible than a GP or practice nurse.
