I have had spots on my arm for about a year now, they are like warts and they wont go away. Every time i go to he doctors about them they say they will clear up in their own time. Recently one of them got infected and i was given antibiotics for it and that has helped them to go slightly. I have noticed a difference since i have had the medicine.

Hi Aimee, I used to have some wart-like things on my hands when I was a boy, but they did disappear as I got older. You've done the right thing going to the doctor about them. I don't think it has anything to do with diabetes though, I think warts (if that's what they are) are caused by a type of virus. I hope they clear up for you soon! 🙂

From what I can find (via a google search) it sounds like Molluscum Contagiosum - does that sound familiar? Your Mum can look it up if you like. It says it can last 12 to 18 months - so as you have had it longer than a year it may be worth seeing if you can get a referral to a dermatologist to check its nothing else.

yeah thats exactly the name i just couldnt remember what they were called! 🙂

I remember these well, both of my daughters had them probably around the age of 11/12 and indeed they did just clear up on their own. They are nothing to worry about.

Hi ...

Nathan has suffered with them on his hands on and off for the past couple of years ... being a 16 year old he struggles to maintain a routine to get rid of them .. some have disappeared ... We have got rid of a couple by painting over them with clear nail varnish daily ... this stops the air getting to them and suffocates the wart.

The last time we saw the consultant hes mentioned about refering Nathan to the dermatologist.
