Hello! I am looking to get rid of my smartphone, but I can't use my dexcom without it. Problem is that I can't afford the Dexcom G6 receiver at £300. I was wondering whether anyone on here has one they no longer use and would be willing to part with?
Thanks in advance!

I suggest you keep your smart phone as I doubt anyone would be able to afford in this day and age to gift a £300 device with a limited lifespan (less than 2years) to anyone else. Either that or save up and buy one yourself. Dexcom might be kind enough to allow you to pay in instalments.

Are you a member of Facebook? There's a UK based Type 1 Pay It Forward group that I recently heard about. I heard it in regard to giving away spares but I guess there must be subscribers who are looking to be gifted them.

Or just keep a cheap smartphone just for this? (I presume it wouldn't need to be a phone in the sense of having a SIM card or anything. Just have bluetooth and wifi for occasional software updates and (I imagine) uploading data from the sensors.)

Only certain phones will work with the app :(

Why not just keep the smartphone?

According to the Dexcom website there are lots of older smartphones which are compatible.
The oldest iPhone for example is the 5S. I’ve just checked eBay and that’s available for about £30.
