The nurse told me yesterday as you are stopping all sugar you might find that you crave it more so give yourself a treat, she said leave it till the evening so you have got something to look forward to and you will find you don't crave it as much.

She said make it a small bit of dark chocolate

Anyone do this?

I just had one and it is the same taste, amazing

The normal one has 0.9g sugar the no alcohol has 3.0g sugar, why?

Definitely. I have a single piece of some VERY nice chocolate, or a dark chocolate Brazil. Such a great. I used to scoff a whole bag or whole bar, but now choose to have these as a treat, and enjoy it so much more. Just had my chocolate. Mmmmm

Yes I do have a treat now and again, eg@ dark choc, or I sometimes bake peanut butter cookies, low cal, low carb and taste great, others treats I have include nuts, or berries.

There’s probably nearly 20g of carbs in a pint of guinness.

I always ensure i have a treat, but not everyday. I stick to Bank Holidays, after my annual Hba1c and of course my birthday to cut myself some slack. However, I have found that the foods I thought would be a great treat are rather disappointing. As I have said previously my palate has clearly changed.

Yes unfortunately all carbs turn to sugar, thats the hard bit to get urhead round when u carb count but as long as u factor it into ur count for the 130 a day shud be ok?

Yes obviously if carb label same n suger lower go with that one. But as said all carbs turn to sugar! Sugar is fast acting in blood to system, carbs eventualy turn to sugar so lower the overal carbs the better i am lead to belive n to be honest it seems to be working for me atm
