i feel dizzy and light headed and then keep zoning out with my eyes closing. I've been getting worse during the day. The out-of-hours GP has made an appointment for me for 5.40pm and wouldn't understand that I didn't feel well enough to be sitting in the waiting room. Not sure what to do because I feel awful.

I should add that blood pressure, heart rate, temperature and BG levels are all normal.

Hi AJ, the only thing I can think of is possibly giving 111 a ring for advice. Hope you feel better soon hun. Xx

Thank Stitch. I phoned 111 and it was them that got the GP to phone me but thanks for suggesting it. I hope that you're ok xx

Coincidentally, yesterday evening I got the same symptoms. :( In my case, they were due (at least partly) to having a renal haemodialysis session during which I had a hypo (according to my Libre graph, anyway); I could barely stand up to get into the wheelchair to take me to the ambulance home, and when I got home I just managed to get through the front door before collapsing onto the communal stairway. 😱 It took several minutes before I felt (just about) strong enough to enter my flat and collapse again, this time on my bed.

Hope you manage to get a home visit or the like, and that you get better. Take care of yourself, and do your best not to get late-stage kidney failure; you do not want the hassles of dialysis on top of your other medical problems. o_O

How are you now? Ok I hope.x

Thank you everyone. Just got back from the GP surgery. He was very thorough and diagnosed labynthritis. I've got tablets to help, need to drink lots of water and rest. If it hasn't improved in three days I must go back to my GP.
Robert I'm sorry so that you were so unwell with the same symptoms. I hope you are having a better day today x

Sorry to hear this, that's horrible, my mum had it once and she felt very dizzy with it. Hope the antibiotics work soon and you feel better. Take care xx

Sorry AJ. {*hugs*}
I've been feeling like this a log the last few years.

By heck, Amanda, haven’t you got enough “been there, had that and got the” T shirts? Labyrinthitis is surprisingly disabling, and a pretty horrible experience. I do feel for you. 😳

The tablets for it can make you a bit drowsy, at least initially, so take care. You may be very intolerant of alcohol as well, you don’t want to be falling over. Sorry:confused:

Hope it clears soon, it may just be a virus.🙂

Sorry everyone I've just realised that I haven't thanked you for your messages, so Thankyou 🙂 I'm still getting these dizzy spells and when they happen they are awful (and not when I'm drinking Mikey 🙂). It now appears that it may not be labythinritis - GP is talking about referring me to neurologist and ENT because it has been confirmed by Boots audiologist that I have hearing loss, but just in my left ear, and I've also been having horrible weak sensations in my lower arms (and sometimes lower legs) for a month.

Hope they get to the bottom of things soon AJ, it can't be very pleasant for you. X

Thank you Stitch x I'm trying to be positive but I'm a bit scared.

I'll keep everything crossed for you hun. X

labynthritis: one of my colleagues suffers of it and the symptoms are the same... It's a nuisance and a bit of a problem if you're driving on the motorway.

If it’s just one sided, dizziness and hearing loss might indicate an acoustic neuroma. This is a benign tumour that is very amenable to treatment, so nothing to panic about. I know you’ll google it, so before you do, malignant ear tumours are incredibly rare. Acoustic neuromas are fairly common. I know you are special, Amanda, but you are allowed to get common stuff.😉

I just hope you can get it sorted quickly, whatever it is, you’re good for nothing as you are. 😳

Thank you Mikey and for saying that I'm special 🙂 It would be nice to have common stuff for a change 🙂 I had already wondered about an acoustic neuroma and that had scared me although I know that they're benign. I hadn't realised they were fairly common and fairly easy to treat. I've managed to find the money to have the MRI's done privately (which GP suggested because I need an open MRI due to claustrophobia and to get CCG funding it looks like I would have to wait until consultant appointments) but I'm just waiting for her to confirm which MRIs. The MRI clinic said a full brain scan and then an IM one which covers the ear canal. I just want to get back to normal (well normal for me) because I'm now getting very nervous of going out on my own - although I'm trying to overcome that. Sorry for the long reply. Thank you everyone for your messages 🙂

Well, I expect it was because of your condition.
Sorry to hear about your arms and legs.

Thank you Ralph
