ive had appointments cancelled, not seeing anyone, had phoned desperate for help two weeks ago, no reply, I had a searing pain down my head, neck, shoulder on left side, was very confused, left a message which they didn't even reply to me, now for the umpteenth time my consultant has cancelled my appointment again... My GP diabetes nurse says because I'm under the hospital they won't treat me... So I've no treatment at all... I have gastroperisis and neuropathy in my feet plus out of control diabetes... Who's helping me- no one

Omg Chrisey that is dreadful. If you still have the pain your GP should see
you, so I suggest making a same day appointment.
Imo Just because you're under the hospital doesn't mean they can't see/treat you for non diabetic reasons.

When your able if your in England or Wales is to put in a complaint to PALS about all your cancelled appointments.
Others with far more experience than me will be along shortly.
Oops forgot my manners, Welcome.

Sounds very frustrating, Chrisey. When did you last see anyone at hospital diabetes clinic? Do you have a phone number or email address for diabetes specialist nurse at hospital clinic, as sometimes they are easier to contact than consultant?

Thank you, I'm just exhausted, no help for me, good luck to you all, I'm done... everyone's turned their back on me, I have ptsd, depression, this diabetes, neuropathy, gastroparesis, my feet really hurt, been asking to see a podiatrist for years and years, at one point I had a hole under my foot but I managed to heal it, I had my spleen removed so am on antibiotics and they cause problems

I phoned my hospital nurse and no answer two weeks ago and yesterday received another consultant diabetes cancellation

All I can suggest is phoning again and again, until you speak to someone direct, instead of leaving messages that are not responded to. Are you getting any support for mental health issues?

Hello Chrisey

I would ring your diabetes consultant secretary at the hospital and explain how may times your appointment has been cancelled. They usually get things moving and sort something out.

Hi Chrisey

I know it's hard, diabetes coupled with the neuropathy in the feet, and then depression as well. I've been there with all three and I know it's horrible. All I can say is don't give up. Don't let it get to you. Keep on at them, as much as you can. Or, try another tack where you go to the doc about only one issue - pick the neuropathy first, for example. Go and talk to the doc. If you have a choice, pick the best one available - or at least the least bad, and slowly and calmly talk to them. At the very least get on with a podiatrist if you can. Tell your doc you can't touch your feet to cut your nails cause of the tingles etc. That's how I got regularly in with my podiatrist.

And at least now you have us. Talk to us here, we're a nice bunch.

Take care
🙂
