I've got what appears to be lots of autoimmune conditions. The only one associated with diabetes is chronic pancreatitis, inasmuch as it appears to be commoner in type 1s. It's not a strong association.
My consultant told me that hypothyroidism, which I have and is also autoimmune, is more common in those with type 1, also coeliac (which I don't). My GP told me that frozen shoulder (which I've had twice) is similarly commonly seen in those with diabetes. Then there are the obvious things like thrush and cystitis which are made more likely by high blood sugar levels.
