Hi all,

Sorry to bother you at the weekend, but was having a coffee yesterday with a friend when she suddenly asked me if I had yellow eye shadow on I said no why, she told me to take a look in the mirror and low and behold my left eyelid was looking really yellow  I really don't know whats caused this, I haven't had any trauma to my eye, so not a bruise, or any bites or stings, has anyone got any ideas what this may be? I do have dry eye syndrome but other than that I'm perplexed

Still busy with in-laws and things not looking good :( mil has a very leaky mitral heart valve, and it would seem the only real option is palliative care as she would be high risk for an op. due to age etc.

Thanks for reading,

Shirl x

It's possible for a small blood vessel to burst and leave a painless bruise - I once woke up with what looked like a black eye but without the tenderness. Do see the doc if it doesn't go away on its own in a few days.

I really don't want to speculate, so would suggest you get it checked by GP after weekend - they'll know your medical history, which is part of information needed to make diagnosis, which could be nothing, as likely as something that needs action. As LeeLee says. it may well go away by itself, in which case, no need to see GP.

Agree with the others about your eye, but just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law. ((((hug)))).

Thank you for replies, will keep my eye on it so to speak, lol.

Mil seems to be in denial atm don't think its hit her yet!

It's a pity that you didn't notice it. Had you noticed it first thing in the morning for example, the chances are it is an injury that you picked up whilst asleep. It is by no means unusual to get a corner of the pillow digging into an eyelid or to even poke yourself in the eye.
