Had my diabetes review today with the "health care assistant", a pleasant young woman but not very effective. She weighted me, took my blood pressure and because I asked looked at my feet. When I asked what my HbA1c is she said that the results were with the doctor (blood test was 11 days ago). I said that I would really like to know so she went off and came back and said that it is higher than it was when it was last done. I asked her for a figure and she said that she did not know that. I asked her about my thyroid function and she said that it was not part of the review so she did not know. She offered me the shingles vaccination and also the pneumonia vaccination. When I said that I was going on holiday tomorrow she said that I will have to make an appointment when I come back, but both could be done on the same day. I asked her about the pancreatic atrophy noted in the CT scans and she said that she did not know anything about it. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Not impressed. Going camping with the family tomorrow so I will have to deal with it when I return from my break on the 19th. I feel fine so that is good. Really don't know what to do next.
