Hello
I just joined the forum but have been diagnosed Type 2 since 2018. My blood sugar levels returned to normal after about 6months of aggressively cutting out the carbs. I am no longer quite so aggressive with the carbs but generally avoid bread/rice/pastry/beer etc. Hoping then that I can keep off blood sugar medicines in the years ahead.

Hope you succeed. I did much the same as you when first diagnosed in 2017. I was determined not to go on medication. 3 years down the line and the GP put me on steroids for Polymyalgia Rheumatica and they are playing havoc with my blood sugar levels, looks like I may be facing medication :-(

Hello Kentish Maid,
Sorry to hear that other meds have screwed up your dietary efforts to control BSlevels. Good luck with the fight for health and fitness and hope you can still avoid the merry-go-round of medications.

Thank you Zulu. From what others have said, when I finally come off the steroids my levels may go back to non diabetic levels, so fingers crossed 🙂
