Quite a number of posts have highlighted the problem of not receiving a diet drink when you ask for one. Recently a barman showed me the connectors were different on these multi-dispensers. His view was that anyone who gave you a standard coke when you asked for one was either careless, not paying attention or being downright malicious. He also said that the landlord had told them that anybody making that mistake would be disciplined (landlord?s wife is Type II)!

Diet Coke is fine, as long as you don't get served the wrong type for the reasons Stephen has mentioned. You can get testing sticks called 'Diastix' which will tell you if you've been served the wrong kind, they are about ?5 for 50 from any pharmacy or online - no prescription needed 🙂
